| What do you love about LA? |
I love the diversity; I love that the beach and the mountains are within an easy driving distance from me; I love the there is so much culture around us if we only take a moment to look; the museums, the observatory, the arboretums, everything that's available to us. |
| What do you think could be improved in LA? How would you do it? |
I really think that our school systems could be improved upon. Where is all the money going that's generated from the Lottery? Why can't we pay our teachers more for the hard work that they do on a daily basis to provide our kids with an education? To make an impact in their lives? All it takes is one special teacher to really make a difference and a child can soar. I feel we need to pay them what they are worth and take it away from the Administration whom in my opinion are OVERpaid. I know it's difficult for working parents to be involved with their kids' school, but whatever time you can volunteer, that really helps. It makes you aware of what's going on in our schools. |
| Can you cook? What's your specialty? |
Yes I can cook, but because of my new job it makes it pretty tough! Ask my kids and they'll probably tell you I haven't cooked lately :) I love to make chicken cordon bleu, chicken tacos and lasagna. I don't have a specialty, but I am always complemented on the potato salad I make :) You didn't specify that the specialty had to be a main dish :) |
| Do you have any hobbies? |
I LOVE to read! My books of choice at this time are the Harry Potter series! YES, I know, they're kids books, but I enjoy them. I've read them all and look forward to reading the final one. I also enjoy the Lord of the Rings trilogy, some Stephan King stories, Anne Rice (Interview with the Vampire and Queen of the Damned), Gone with the Wind and the sequel book. I also enjoy reading Smithsonian magazine. I enjoy a slew of other things, too many to list here.
I've also taken a great dance class that I would love to continue taking. It's the S Factor and I absolutely love it!! If you have a chance check out the website Sfactor.com |
| Explain your favorite activity to do with your children and why? |
I like to take my kids to places like the museums and the observatory. Places like this, in my opinion, opens them up to so much more than just TV and video games. It gets them thinking and I love the conversations we have about stars and planets and everything else that just comes from the experience. |
| Discuss one quality your partner must possess and why? |
I love a sense of humor! My husband has been a part of my life for the last 20 years and he's always there making me smile and laugh, or even making me roll my eyes :) I am the serious one and he's the joker, so he balances me out. |
| Are you involved in your community? If so, please explain. |
I was involved in my community for a few years participating in our homeowner association, first as a member, then as secretary and then as President. I really enjoyed seeing how things are accomplished within the City and I liked the feeling from it, that I was trying to make it a better place for my kids. |
